Yeah, I know it’s May. Christmas is a way off, and Memorial Day is but a few weeks away, but all we know whenever we play this game – Christmas is whenever we want. So why not in May. I may re-run this episode as a live event in December right around Christmas so we shall see.
If I can get to 1000 subs before then, I will definitely do it!
But in this episode, there are very special Christmas gifts ahead for Nina, Amanda, Carrie & Tony and if you haven’t seen it yet – please stop and watch Episode 11 then join me for the spoilers down below.
SPOILERS AHEAD – YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
In Episode 11, it’s Christmas time. We start the episode with Nina on her treadmill watching Trauma Central while chatting with her agent Rachel. When Rachel learns of the next book that Nina wants her to pitch to the publisher, she screams out: “A kid’s book! You don’t write books for kids! You write Hot & Heavy in Tartosa, Lost Desire & so forth but a kid’s book?!”
If you’ve ever wondered what kind of corporate persona I had when I worked in corporate, Rachel sums it up perfectly. I decided to act totally as myself as if I was talking to one of my staff members who went and did something nuts.
And that’s how Rachel sees it too. Nina is her #1 client. She’s made a fortune off of her and now it looks like it will be a public relations nightmare about to brew. How the hell could Nina write a kid’s book?!
What’s more is Nina wants the first edition and first printed copy in a leather-bound hardcover with reinforced spine, and real gold embossed on the cover because it’s Carrie’s Christmas present.
Rachel is flabbergasted, “They’re not going to go for that!”
Nina reminds her that she’s pulled millions for her publishers in sales and commissions and reminds Rachel that she needs to, “get it done! That’s what I pay you for!“
“What’s the title?” Rachel groans
“Working title is Daisy the Magic Cow.” Nina says.
“What? Does the damn thing fly?” Rachel asks.
“Don’t let me down, Rachel.” Nina says.
“Yeah, yeah,” is the reply from a disgruntled and worried literary agent.

On Christmas Eve, before Carrie leaves to go to Amanda’s apartment, she and Nina open presents in the morning. Nina is thrilled to give Carrie a very special present in which Carrie exclaims happily, “You did it, Mom! You wrote my book!”
The excitement on her daughter’s face is enough of a gift for Nina as now 8-year-old Carrie is super excited to receive such a gift. She asks Nina to read it for her. Nina sits with her on the couch as she reads the book aloud to her daughter.
After she is finished, Carrie asks to bring the book to her mother’s apartment and Nina says yes. She is so happy and proud of her special and wonderous gift, but then she tells Nina she has a special gift for her too.
Nina is surprised. Carrie bought her a gift. How?
When Nina opens the small box given to her by her daughter, tears fall out of her eyes. “Oh, honey, it’s lovely but how did you afford this?”
Carrie informs her that she got an allowance from her mother for doing chores around the apartment, and from helping out around the complex. She also did work for her grandparents in exchange for some money, and she also saved up her birthday money from her relatives.
Nina is so touched by the gift, and the thoughtfulness of her daughter. She’s told by Carrie that it will remind her of her parents, and for Nina it warms her heart.
When Carrie arrives at Amanda’s, she is so thrilled to show off her book. Amanda is touched by the gift, and it makes her smile.
In secret, it reminds her of the Nina she used to know and loves and when she sees this part of her return in written form, it brings back memories of the past, and makes her proud of her ex.
Amanda quickly dismisses her feelings by going back to the stove, as a “visitor” arrives. Carrie is amazed at who has just come over. A special visit just for her! When did he have the time? Can you guess who?
Yup, it’s Santa Claus! Imagine that – Santa Claus making an exclusive visit to Carrie all the way from the North pole before he does his Christmas run? What a special honor!
After Carrie goes to bed, Amanda & Tony spend Christmas Eve sitting beside one another on the couch watching the fire. It’s then Amanda gives him his very special gift. And no, I’m not revealing it here – if you’ve already watched then you know what it is, but if you haven’t, click the photo below to be taken directly to the episode now.
