Tonight’s the night that Carrie meets Guy. Will she like him? Will she hate him? What will she think? If you haven’t seen S2 E8 yet, now is your chance. Watch the episode down below and then join us for the spoilers.

Now the first question on your mind is, this seems like a filler episode? Is it? Well, yes and no. This episode is supposed to appear later in the series. However, as I read through the script, I realized that it had to come before episodes nine and ten.

It was much longer than originally anticipated. I cut a few scenes when I realized that they made no sense. Nina was reflecting about the state of her relationship with Guy with Carrie. This topic comes up again towards the end. Ultimately, it leads to something much more pivotal about Nina’s relationship with Guy.

The dinner seems pretty normal. Everyone is enjoying themselves and having a good time. Carrie seems to like Guy, as does Drake. Drake is especially fond of the flan from @icemunmun that makes a comeback from E4.

I thought it would be a nice touch for Nina to recognize her part Selvadoradian heritage. Her father would make it for her as a child while her mother was away on an adventure. For a long time, Nina avoided any reminders of her parents. The exception was when she chose to live in the home she grew up in.

When Carrie and Drake go home, it’s here that Guy and Nina share a special moment together. We learn that Guy has fallen in love with Nina, and Nina has too (as she said in episode 7.) She invites him to come to her family home in Windenburg for Chrstmas, and asks him to move in with her. Guy invites her to meet his children and says that they’ll make arrangements to do so.

In Episode 9, we have one of the most pivotal episodes of the series. It is a short episode, but it packs such an emotional punch! In E9 entitled, “The Letter,” Carrie receives the news she’s been waiting on. What does it mean for her future?

For me personally, there are three that stand out from S2 which are: 4, 9 and 10. Although I will admit that S2 E17 is such a tear-jerker, and I have yet to record audio for it.
