Nina has invited Carrie over to the penthouse for the weekend. She has very important news to share. Is Carrie ready to hear that her Mom has got a new partner? Let’s find out! And before you go any further, please stop and watch S2 E7 now below. Then join us for the spoilers!

We start the episode with Nina in her living room. She’s set up pizza on the coffee table and is waiting for Carrie. Carrie arrives shortly after and is happy to see her mother. She’s had a tough week at school. Now she’s getting very anxious about news involving her possible internship in Chestnut Ridge.

Nina tries to ease her fears but asking her to sit down and eat some pizza. She also has some important news to share. Nina tells Carrie that she’s met someone and he’s become very important to her.

Carrie is surprised, “He? But, Mom, I thought you were only into……”

“I thought so too, but here we are.” Nina says.

Carrie is delighted to learn her mother is happy and has a new partner. When she learns of his name, she goes, “Sterling? My God, Mom, he’s got a soap opera name!”

After Nina invites Carrie over to dinner to meet Guy, Carrie asks to bring Drake too. Nina says, “Of course, Drake is practically part of the family!”

“Someday I hope he will be.” Carrie says.

Nina smiles at her daughter and says, “You love Drake, don’t you?”

Carrie smirking says, “As if you couldn’t tell….” As they talk, they realize that Carrie is moving so far away. A great distance will be between them. Can this relationship survive?

Carrie knows from her friends that a lot of their relationships died after high school. They also ended after college. This was due to the distance and new people they would meet.

Carrie is also obsessed with the announcement of whether or not she’s earned her place in the internship. Getting into this program is at the top of Carrie’s list. However, she has fallen in love while dating Drake.

She faces a big decision in the next couple of months. As she’s obsessing over the program, Nina hears words that echo back to her childhood.

“Sometimes, I feel like I’ll die trying…..” Carrie says.

Nina becomes unnerved. She reveals to Carrie a long-buried family secret. It’s too juicy to be revealed here, but it is in the episode. If you watched it, please no spoilers below, but when Carrie realizes the similarities – it completely scares her!

Nina knows she can do nothing tonight to ease her daughters’ fears. Nonetheless, they can sit back and enjoy the evening together. Besides, that pizza by Littlbowbub is too good to waste! I agree that it is.
