Nina is out on her first official date with Sterling. How will it go? Let’s find out! But before you continue to the spoilers stop and watch S2 E5 now.

SPOILER WARNING – YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

We start the episode with Nina in her office working on a manuscript. The phone rings. It’s Sterling. She smiles as she picks up the phone saying, “Hi there.”

“Hi.” He says. “I’ve been thinking….”

“About?” She asks.

“Do you like Italian cuisine?”

“I do like Italian cuisine.” She says.

“Do you like Italian art?”

“I do like Italian art too.”

With a smile, he tells her he’s taking her to a great Italian restaurant. They will also visit an exhibition at the gallery of Italian art afterward. The theme of the evening will be Italy.

She’s intrigued. Nina is in unfamiliar territory. She probably would never have thought of going out with a guy……ever, but a chance meeting led to a fun conversation, wonderful dinner and now an official date. The same is true for him. Because of the mishap, he’s dating a Global Superstar and now he can’t stop thinking about her.

Nina is enjoying the extra attention, and flirtation. It’s a major difference from previous relationships. Both Amanda and Addie could be romantic from time to time. However, this is completely different from anything she’s ever experienced.

From previous experiences with Addie, we know Nina was able to experiment in a safe and neutral setting. She found that experience with Glenn quite enjoyable. In E20 S1, I cut a scene for run-time that showed Nina reflecting on the experience afterward.

The scene was about ten minutes long and I didn’t want it to take away too much from the episode. I also thought it revealed too much about what was to happen later. In the deleted scene, Nina reflects on her feelings. Physically, she feels amazing, but emotionally, she feels empty. She realizes she had woohoo for just pure pleasure. It bothers her. This leads to a realization about herself.

Although we learn later, she goes back with Addie a second time, and although enjoyable, Nina wanted more. As we know, Nina, being romantically reserved, wants a real relationship with love and a future from her desired partner. When Addie won’t give her what she needs in her life, the relationship dissolves.

She’s looking forward to the evening on Friday. Plus, she’s loving the way he dotes on by offering her a rose on their “not-a-date-date.” Sterling makes Nina feel special. He appreciates her and makes her feel like a queen. It’s quite a switch from what happened in her last relationships. Nina likes how he’s so suave and romantic. She feels like he stepped off of the screen from Trauma Central.

As Nina prepares to go down the elevator, Sterling waits by the back entrance with his car. He again presents her with a single red rose, and escorts her to a car with a personal driver. Looks like he’s gone all out tonight!

They go to the restaurant and talk some more while they simply can’t take their eyes off of each other. She talks about never having had a date like this. Sterling takes the initiative and says, “Forgive me, Nina.”

“For what?” She asks.

For this,” and they kiss for the first time.

Nina is surprised, but happy, and allows him to kiss her again. This is a new experience for her. It’s not just because she’s with a man. It’s because he treats her so much better than others have. As they continue to enjoy their make-out in the restaurant, a server asks if there will be anything else. They only want the check.

They go back to the car where they continue their make out, even after arriving to the gallery. Sterling and Nina both don’t want to go, but he reminds her that they have tickets. So, they go into the gallery. As they walk around the beautiful pieces of art, both think about each other. Halfway through the tour, they run back to the car.

Sterling instructs his driver to cruise around the city. He and Nina raise the privacy window. They continue their heavy make out in the car. Nina laughs as she realizes she’s never made out with anyone in the backseat of a car before! As funny as that would seem!

He finds her very refreshing. He loves being with her and hangs onto every word that she says. He doesn’t want the night to end, and neither does she, but she’s hesitant. Should she spend the night already? He tells her that this doesn’t feel rushed, but right.

Nina decides to go for it. They head back to Sterling’s apartment. They spend the night together and woohoo for the first time. She spends the night in his arms feeling warm and wonderful. She loves feeling this way.

In the morning, while she’s taking a shower, he is making breakfast. She comes out of the shower wearing his robe, and they engage in a conversation about spending the night together. I love when Nina says this line from the episode. She exclaims, “Everything I caution my daughter about I just threw out the window!”

Sterling laughs. He tells her that he’s not the type of guy to have woohoo with a lot of partners. In fact, his last relationship ended last year, and he’s been pretty much a single guy since.

It’s then Nina asks if Sterling has a nickname, and we learn that he does. It’s Guy.

“Guy?” Nina asks. “How did that come about?”

Guy laughs and says that when he was in college, he worked in a restaurant. His boss would refer to him as “that guy” or “Hey Guy!” So the nickname Guy stuck.

Nina smiles and says, “I like you, Guy.”

“I like you too, Nina.” He tells her with a returned smile.

After breakfast he invites her over to the couch where they make out again. Shortly after, they find themselves back in his bedroom. Twice in that same afternoon. Afterwards, they enjoy pizza while watching a movie.

She stays over and goes home the next day. She invites him to her place for dinner on Monday and he spends the night with her. And after a few more dates, she decides to tell Rachel about Guy.

But what does she tell Rachel about Guy? That is a question for the next episode of Nina & Amanda in Episode 6. It will be available on Early Access for GXer2 Members on Patreon. The release date for Early Access is 11/13/24 at 9pm EST.

Next week, Episode 6 will reveal a lot more. We will see where this new situation with Guy and Nina is headed. Is she ready for a boyfriend?

We’re getting closer to the mid-season episode which I hope you guys will really love! I’m editing it now and I can tell you it’s a long one, but a good one. I think you’re going to like what happens next.
