Carrie is in Henford visiting her cow at the cottage. She’s also hoping to catch up with Drake. Judging by the thumbnail, it’s a safe bet to assume she will. But if you haven’t seen E19 yet – stop and please watch the episode down below. Then, join us for spoilers!
SPOILER WARNING – YOU HAVE BEEN ALERTED!
We start the episode with Carrie arriving in Henford taking in the fresh clean air. She was asked to go to Tartosa with Nina for the final leg of her book tour, but Carrie really wanted to seee her cow. This is disappointing to Nina but understands that her teenage daughter is more interested in catching up with young Drake – who she hasn’t been able to meet up with yet. Is her luck changing today? Yes, it is.
You may wonder why I chose this thumbnail for the episode given it’s a spoiler. The truth is this is the beginning of Carrie’s first ever romance. She liked Drake the minute she sees him in a photo that Nina showed her from E17. More so, she likes that he’s kind to her beautiful Daisy, and that Daisy seems to equally like him too. And since that day when Nina shared that picture with her, Carrie has always gone to the cottage when she was able to see if she could catch up with young Drake.
Keep in mind, Carrie is on a break for the summer from college but is already gearing up for her second year. In fact, she’s got class the following Monday. She has been working steadily at Amanda’s clinic learning more from being a vet tech and watching her mother at work. During her free time, she’s usually hanging out with her best friend and cousin Jane, or visiting her beloved cow, Daisy.

Nina & Addie Visit Tartosa
Meanwhile in Tartosa, Nina and Addie prepare for the final stop at the Tartosa Hotel and Resort. This is one of my all-time favorite builds from the amazing Marmelad. The hotel is super excited to receive Global Superstar Nina Garban and have her do a reading of her latest book Lovestruck (which was named in honor of the 16th expansion pack for The Sims4 also called Lovestruck.)
Addie keeps a close eye on the event for the entire weekend, making sure that security is on top of things, and Nina needs everything she requires for the appearance. Nina is excited about this being the last stop on the tour, but she had really hoped Carrie could have accompanied her. For one reason, it is the final leg of the tour and Carrie could relax in the sunshine, use the hotel’s gym, or swim in the luxurious pool. For another reason, Carrie could distract Nina from Addie, but also, most importantly, Nina could spend some quality time with her daughter too.
But for now, Nina is at work and her focus is on presenting the new book in the best way possible. Fans are cheering and applauding. Paparazzi are snapping photos left and right, and in the distance, behind the chaos, watching carefully, is Addie.
Addie is proud of the job she’s done for this tour. Her attention to detail is flawless and the event runs like clockwork. As she watches Nina up on the stage, she’s amazed by how comfortable Nina is. She seems like she’s in her element and is enjoying herself. Watching Nina wow the crowd makes her feel special but inside, Addie is in deep admiration of her boss.

Carrie’s Visit to Henford
Carrie has arrived at the cottage and sees Daisy waiting for her by the paddock. She’s so happy to see her as she begins petting her and hugging her. It’s been a while since she’s seen her beloved pet cow, and she’s thrilled to see her.
That’s when she hears a teenage boy’s voice ask, “Can I help you with something?”
She turns and is startled to see the elusive Drake standing in front of her. “Hi,” she says nervously, as says in a stammer with her Henford accent coming through. “HI, I’m Carr….Caroline Parker.” Realizing that the Henford accent is coming through because of her nerves, she clears her throat as she repeats. “Parker.” in her regular accent.

Why Does Carrie Have an Accent?
You may be wondering, why does Carrie break into a Henford accent? Like Nina, she has acquired it from living in Henford on Bagley, but due to going back and forth from Henford to Brindleton Bay, Evergreen Harbor and San Sequioa it has hallowed out a little over the years. She’s also had an influence on her from Tony too as you will see when she talks about the traffic going up and down the road.
I got the idea for Nina and Carrie’s accent from a friend of mine who was originally from the UK but moved to New York when she was a teen. For the most part, she had a Long Island accent but if you ever made her mad – she got full on Brit on you! She also slipped into her British accent from time to time on certain words schedule for instance, or she would say taking the piss out of you.
To date, I’m fortunate to say I have made some really great friends from across the pond, like my good friend Giles “Tiger” Thomas who will be joining me on a Let’s Play soon. This is an idea we had when we used to do our show on Muscular Development called Giles & Jen. His partner Bikini athlete soon to be IFBB Pro (we hope) Lauren Lotter is another good friend, and I enjoy chatting with both of them. Then of course, there is a friend who I know as Jonster. He tells the best dirty jokes, and he is a wonderful single father to his daughter with a heart of gold. We met when I used to make anime music videos (amvs) in my youth, and we’ve been friends ever since. Check out my author’s channel to see the amv’s our crew had made. They are amazing, and mine are in there too.
This is also one of the reasons why I’m able to do Nina’s accent because of the influence from my friends, but I also liked to watch a lot of British programming on Nickelodeon when I was younger. You may not know this but when Nick started, a lot of their shows came over from the UK and Canada. My favorite back then was You Can’t Do That on Television. It’s also where the iconic green slime originated from, which would later be Nickelodeon’s trademark. My other favorite was a sci-fi show called The Tomorrow People which was clearly a mix of Star Trek/Dr. Who.
Like Nina suddenly dips into the Windenburg/Brindleton Bay influence whenever she gets angry, sad or nervous; I wondered about Carrie. What if when Carrie gets angry, sad, nervous or flirtatious, she occasionally dipped into the Henford accent? So, I tried it with E19, and I was happy with the end result. And the reason, why she clears her throat after she does it is because she’s aware she’s either anxious or feeling flirty. Seeing Drake in front of her is kind of a shock, and she’s unsure of what to do in this moment. But something Carrie seems to have inherited from Amanda is the confidence level.

As Carrie and Drake begin to talk, they discuss Daisy, the cottage and life. As Carrie is speaking to Drake, she hears many trucks going up and down the street. This was something I worked into the episode. During recording, I had my windows closed but there was a lot of traffic outside of my house, and it clearly filtered into the recording. So, I ad-libbed the lines from Carrie and Drake about the traffic on the road.
While the two talk, they have an amazing afternoon together while Carrie talks about visiting Chestnut Ridge and how they do a dance called the Cowpoke.
Drake smiles at her and asks, “Can you cowpoke?”
“A little,” she responds.
“You want to show me?” He asks.
“Here?” Carrie laughs. “That’s silly we don’t even have music.”

Drake smiles as he plays music from his phone onto his radio that sits near the house. Carrie reluctantly agrees and demonstrates The Cowpoke. Drake smiles, as she pulls him next to her to teach him the dance.
The two laugh and joke around until Carrie’s watch beeps reminding her that it’s time to leave. Drake offers to walk her up to the station. She agrees and they have a conversation on the way.
In game, it’s impossible to get Sims to walk alongside one another. I hope at one point this does change. So, I made the conversation happen before Carrie heads back to her home. Before she leaves, Drake asks her if she would like to go out with him tomorrow night. She tells him she can’t go out on night due to her schedule on Monday, but she can meet him for lunch. Drake agrees and she asks him to come to her home to pick her up. Drake is also surprised to learn that Carrie is in college and refers to her as a genius. Carrie smiles and responds in a clear Henford acccent, “I wouldn’t go that far.”
Drake comes to the house the following day and is greeted by her parents. Afterwards the two head off to the Greenhouse Restaurant where Carrie bypasses the line and is seated immediately. Drake is so surprised, but Carrie tells her of the deal her mother has in place with Chef Ito.
The original scene between Carrie and Drake was a lot longer. It went into detail about Drake’s mother, why he and his father moved to Henford, how come Carrie never caught up with him during the summer – and I felt it was unnecessary and that all of this would come out eventually. As I said in the last video with KT of @JustaMomThatSims, the original runtime of E19 was 35 minutes – so I managed to cut most of the conversation to speed up the pacing.
After they have dinner, the two go outside to talk a walk by the water in the moonlight and they kiss for the first time. Shortly after, Drake asks Carrie to go steady and be her boyfriend. So, she says – yes!

When she gets home, Carrie is elated but acts disappointed as she comes in the house to see her parents at the table. She tells them she had an amazing time and heads off to bed.
This is another scene I cut. Originally, there was a text message exchange between Drake and Carrie. It was a cute scene but unnecessary. Plus, when I had rewritten E20, I decided to change the scene to reflect Carrie receiving a text from Nina and sending her back a text telling her she now has a boyfriend.
This is where we flip to Nina and Addie sitting in a conference room at the Tartosa Hotel. Outside it is raining. Nina chuckles as she receives the news and relays to Addie that Carrie has a boyfriend.
Addie smiles at the news, and the two have a conversation about being grateful that this is the last leg of the tour. When Nina said that it’s because of Addie’s hard work, Addie responds with, “Are you kidding? I saw you up there – it was impressive as hell.”

This immediately makes Nina uncomfortable because, she needs to make a discreet exit telling Addie that she’ll head up, and Addie responds with, “Yeah, sure.”
But just as Addie is about to leave, she turns around, and calls out, “Nina, wait!” As Addie goes back to the conference table and sits down, she struggles with her words until she says, “I….uh…I… I forgot. Remember to tell Rachel when you get back that the engagement was good.”

“Yeah, I’ll do that.” Nina says. “Good night, Addie.”
Addie in a soft voice says, “Good night, Nina.” As she gets up and exits the conference room.
Nina sits at the table, staring at a painting on the wall, trying to figure out what just happened just now.
Now, in E20, what happens next? Nina has got it bad for Addie. Is she ever going to tell her how she feels, or will she suffer in silence? Find out next week for the Season Finale of S1.
Here is a sneak peek for E20, and a funny little promo that I included for E20 featuring “You Got it Bad” by Usher – who allows use of his song on Youtube. Thank you, Usher.
